As a counselor at Mililani Middle School, I received positive feedback from both teachers and students about the Expect Respect lessons and theater performance that our 8th grade students received during the 2017-2018 school year.  At such a pivotal time in their development, learning about healthy relationships and truly understanding the magnitude of what it means to expect and show respect is a vital and valuable lesson for students as they prepare for high school.  The content provided by the Honolulu Theater for Youth and the T-Shirt Theater was relevant and captivated the attention of our students, who by the end of the performance were reciting, "Know the line, respect the line, and protect the line!"  I look forward to continuing this empowering social/emotional experience for our students in the future.
