K-12 CURRICULA TEACHER TRAINING

Length of training: 7 hours

SATC developed a K-12 Sexual Violence Prevention Curricula to implement in classrooms across Hawai’i. The curricula address ways to stay safe, prevent sexual violence victimization and perpetration, and develop healthy, respectful relationships.

The SATC Educator provides a train-the-trainer session for school staff including teachers, counselors, and administrators. Participants will be taught about dynamics of sexual violence, how to respond to student disclosures of sexual violence, and how to implement the lessons.

The Curricula:

• Meets Hawai'i’s Health Education Standards (HCPS III).
• Empowers students to assert their personal boundaries, and to respect others’ boundaries.
• Helps students identify personal resources for support and safety.
• Emphasizes the importance of being respected in all relationships.
